Elizabeth Weber: Woodturning

Elizabeth is a Tennessee native now living in Seattle, WA. She looks for ways to add vibrancy and movement to the things she creates through the use of color and shapes. Much of her work tries to capture past influences and tell a story. The storytelling not only lives in the finished product, but also the turning process. Elizabeth has been a woodturning instructor at the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, WA since November 2019.

My Demonstration

Snake Bowl

In this demonstration, Elizabeth will cover how and where you can find inspiration for your work, the importance of storyboards, different work holding methods, and how to successfully use various tools to achieve a carved and textured surface similar to the Snake Bowl. Elizabeth will also touch a little bit on various methods of adding color to your pieces using acrylics.
